The start of a great journey
The main reason for the journey, The Fete.
Sitting with J is Dannie, wife of Frank. They are from England and helped introduce us to the village.
Here is a link to Frank and Dannie's web site
They are, along with the whole village, wonderful people.
The Mayor, Gerard has also gone out of his way to be very helpful.
The above is a short video of the main meal with the vilages Bandas band, which they are very proud of.
Our home from home. The now famous "Tente Orange"
Our land is set quite High and we became the talk of the town.
When we went to the Fete, we were introduced as the mad couple who bought the ruin, who live in the Tente Orange.
They all welcomed us to the village and all wished us "Bonne Courage"
A bit hard to see in these picture but, ther are rhapettes (small lizards) in the pictures.
The ruin is home to a number of different animals, rhatpettes, bats, sparrows and many others.
This is a paw print from one of the local hares. It marked it's big orange carrot for later!
The next night we were woken by something trying to dig it's way into our tent.
It was the hare. He must have thought he'd found the biggest carrot from heaven.
The river Baise, close to Trie Sur Baise.
